What are my delivery options?

Shipping costs are calculated based on total order value and are calculated in the checkout process. You can also see a breakdown of our shipping policy here.

Please note that shipping times state 'from date of dispatch'. This will usually be within one to two days of placing your order, however, personalised orders and 'out of stock' orders may be delayed. If you would like an estimate of turnover time, please contact us. We will usually respond within a few hours.

The Guaranteed next day delivery option (U.K. only) will only apply when an item is available and in-stock and if we receive your order before 2pm. Dispatch times provided for individual items are guidelines only and items are usually sent before the given turnaround time. It may be possible to prioritise your order.

If you need an item immediately please do not hesitate to contact us regarding the possibility of it being in stock for immediate dispatch.

Items ordered after 20th December are unlikely to reach you before 2nd week in January. However, exceptions may be made for items available and in stock so please do contact us for further information.

All orders are sent using Royal Mail 'signed for' which is trackable. We cannot accept responsibility for orders 'lost' which are signed for by a third party.

What is your returns/refund policy?

We hope that you will be delighted with your order. However, if within 14 days of purchase you change your mind, we will be happy to offer you a full refund credited to the card used in the original sales transaction.

All pieces must be returned in a new and unworn condition and in their original, undamaged packaging. When returning items, proof of postage must be obtained and we advise using a Tracked and Signed for postal option. We strongly advise that when returning items you use a delivery service that insures you for the total value of the item.

We will not exchange goods that have been worn, do not have their original packaging or show obvious signs of mistreatment or deliberate damage. In this instance, the goods will be returned to the buyer at their own expense.

We cannot be held responsible for returns that are lost in transit. If you are returning an item to us for a refund or an exchange, be aware that the cost of returning the item to us is your responsibility.

For hygiene reasons, we are not able to accept returns on Earrings unless they are faulty.

When ordering Rings, it is the customers responsibility to ensure that they have ordered the correct size. A Ring ordered in the incorrect size can be re-sized, but this will be subject to a charge to cover extra time and materials required to make the adjustment. (See FAQ 'What if my purchased item needs repairing/altering?')

Most high street jewellers are happy to provide a ring size measurement. This is the most accurate and reliable method and is usually free of charge.

Engraved, personalised or commissioned pieces are non-returnable/non-refundable.

What if my purchased item needs repairing or altering?

Every piece of INGOT 47 Jewellery is covered by a one year warranty on receipt of a valid proof of purchase. This warranty applies to all of our products regardless of whether you purchased the item through our website or in person at one of our other locations. Within one year, if your jewellery needs a repair we will provide you with a full repair service free of charge.

Once the one year warranty has expired, we can still repair or alter your item for a minimum charge of £25. Where the repair/alteration is more complex and in particular when semi-precious stones are involved, the fee will reflect the time spent and materials needed to complete the work. You will be given an estimate of cost before the work is undertaken.

How can I be sure my piece of jewellery is sterling silver, 9 carat or 18 carat gold?

Every piece of our jewellery is tested and all products which are at, or above the minimum legal threshold of 7.78g in weight, are hallmarked by the London Assay Office in accordance with the U.K. Hallmarking Act 1973. This guarantees that the precious metal is of the fineness stated. NONE of our jewellery is gold or silver plated, gold vermeil or gold filled. We only work with solid gold and silver.

How do I care for my jewellery?

To help protect the durability of your jewellery, remove your jewellery when you shower, bathe or engage in heavy exercise, particularly when swimming in the sea or a chlorinated swimming pool. As all of our jewellery is solid silver and or gold, these activities won’t damage the precious metal components, but they may damage set stones, depending on their hardness, and lead to premature tarnishing. Gemstones are natural and therefore can be prone to absorbing dirt and to chipping.

Avoid spraying perfume, applying creams or any other liquids directly onto your jewellery. It is better to put on your jewellery after you have applied your make-up and perfume.

Avoid wearing your jewellery when using bleach, cleaning products and other chemicals.

We highly recommend that you store your jewellery in the original packaging provided or another suitably lined box or soft pouch and place a small packet of desiccant crystals in the packaging which will minimise exposure to moisture. Although moisture will not damage your silver/gold, it may cause it to tarnish more quickly as outlined above.

To keep your jewellery looking its best and to remove the build-up of dirt and premature tarnish we recommend using a silver polishing cloth which are readily available in most supermarkets or online and are inexpensive. Rub the piece in one direction rather than circular motions.

A silver cleaner solution can be used to clean Sterling Silver pieces but we advise the above method in preference to silver cleaning solutions. This option should not be used where the piece has a semi-precious stone in the design as the stone may become damaged and lose its lustre.

Silver is a soft metal and prone to scratches so only use a silver cloth to polish the piece. You should not use paper towels or any abrasive material.
